Late 2005 Neopets added a feature to guilds where neomails were sent out to guild members.

• For guild leaders, everytime a user joined their guild they received a neomail saying "[so and so] has just joined your guild"
• For guild members, they were added to an automatic guild neomailing list that guild leaders could neomail in order to contact their entire guild

Won't I receive guild mailings automatically?
No, as explained above guild mailings have become a subscription or 'opt-in' feature of guilds. If you decide you'd like to receive guild mailings all you need to do is go to your 'Site Preferences' page and check the box: "Enable Guild Mailings" and then click the 'Change Your Details' button.

How often will HYN send guild mailings?
There isn't a lot of information that needs to be sent out to guild members that they can't just grab themselves from the guild message board or from the news section on the guild front. So I can safely say that once a week would be the absolute maximum but in reality you'll be lucky to receive one once a month.

What sort of things will HYN neomail me about?
We'll only neomail about big stuff, like if there's a big giveaway or something else terribly interesting coming up. Or, on occassion a little reminder about the guild rules; its nicer to remind everyone than just telling one person! And when I've used it in the past I've let everyone know how successful one of the terrible interesting things was :)

Will I be able to stop receiving the messages?
Yes! It's just a matter of going back to your 'Site Preferences' page and unchecking the box and then clicking the 'Change Your Details' button.
